The Jackson Squirrel Rifle

History:
The idea originated from a squirrel hunt I was on with my friend, Clifton Jackson, down in the White River area of Arkansas (just across the river from Mississippi). Yes, the rifle is named after Clifton (“Pete”) Jackson. Our quest became the design of the world’s finest squirrel hunting rifle ever made…the “Ferrari of all squirrel rifles”.

Our challenge was to transform the stark functionality of competition stock design into free flowing American shooting art. In doing so, we solicited the advice of Clifton’s uncle, Zell Daniels. We all came together with a concept and handed it over to the true genius, our chief stock maker, LeRoy Barry (who made it happen).

The Stock :
Designed by LeRoy Barry, the Jackson Squirrel Rifle has a roll-over cheek piece style. The grip is slightly swelled and a little larger than our standard shape (some may notice this as a palm swell). The forearm is “fluted” creating “finger grooves” along the sides and yet retains a shape that rests nicely on the bags.

The shape is created from AA hand selected Claro walnut and features a Pachmayr pad and machined steel grip cap. Sling swivels are installed. Like all our stocks, the Jackson Squirrel Rifle is hand checkered and oil finished.

The Barrelled Action:
The power train in this “Ferrari of squirrel rifles” is our Model 57, available in 22LR, 22WMR, 17HMR, and 17 Mach2. The Jackson Squirrel Rifle comes standard with a stainless steel 22” match grade barrel that has a .940” to .580” contour taper. All metal work is matte finished.

The Jackson Squirrel Rifle in 22LR is guaranteed to shoot ¼” 5-shot groups using match grade ammunition; in 22WMR, 17HMR, and 17 Mach2 the rifles are guaranteed to shoot ¼” 3-shot groups at 50 yards.

The rifle weighs 6.5 lbs. All options are available except for Skeleton and Niedner butt plates.
